[3 Tips] Effective Speaking Skills vs Defective Speaking Skills | Best Public Speaking Course in Bangalore

Everybody wants to become an effective speaker.

But not everyone becomes that.

3%-5% people BECOME effective speakers.

Rest stay as defective speakers.

It saddens my heart when I see qualified, experienced & deserving professionals lose career opportunities and have their career stagnant because of lack of effective speaking & confident communication skills.

Hence they spend their lives with unhappiness and with lack of respect in society.

Here are 3 differences between effective speaking and defective speaking, make sure you identify them and improve with guidance.

1. Confidence & fear. If you always have stage fear before a major presentation or important video conference, you’re not an effective speaker. Effective speakers are confident about themselves no matter who they’re presenting their ideas in front of. Many people have stage fear when they first come to our program, they leave with high confidence, and hence they spend the rest of their lives as effective speakers.

2. Connection Skills. Defective speakers never know how to connect with people when communicating. They just show up and throw up: they vomit their information & facts…and expect being respected for their “vast knowledge.” While knowledge is very important, connection is vital. Without connection, knowledge is like a car with petrol. If you’d like to become an effective speaker, you must master the art of connecting with the audience within the first 7 seconds.

3. Choice of Words. One thing I liked about Australian Bowler Brett Lee when I met him here in Bangalore in 2009 was his choice of words. He may be a good bowler, but he’s an exceptional communicator. So is Amitabh Bacchan. So are so many of my other clients that I’ve personally mentored. If you use poor words, you will be a poor communicator. If you want to be an effective speaker, you must utilize effective words. You must use the right words at the right time to express yourself.

Remember to be an EFFECTIVE SPEAKER, not a DEFECTIVE one.
